The Premiership trophy, two other League titles, five wins out of six. What more do you lucky, lucky people want on the last Saturday of the season?

The 1st team collected the Premiership trophy from last year’s winners Potters Bar, then trounced their rivals by 143 runs to finish at the very summit of the county pyramid by 56 points. The remarkable Cole Briggs signed off with another ton, Harry Seagrave scored a fine half-century and Andrew Neal chipped in with 4 more wickets:
Harpenden: 290-9 off 50 overs (Briggs 110, Seagrave 78)
Potters Bar: 147 all out off 42.5 overs (Neal 4-23)

The 2nd team secured promotion and the Division 2A title with a 5-wicket victory over Berkhamsted. Mike Howard and Ed Washington scored vital half-centuries in the run chase:
Berkhamsted: 221-7 off 50 overs (Doyle 3-36)
Harpenden: 224-5 off 49.2 overs (Howard 71 not out, Ed Washington 52)

The 3rd team clinched promotion and the Division 4B title; a crucial, last-gasp, tenth-wicket partnership saw them sneak past Reed 2s by a solitary wicket:
Reed: 143 all out off 43.1 overs (Manton 3-22, Bissett 3-32, Ben Griggs 3-38)
Harpenden: 144-9 off 33 overs (B. Luffman 31)

The 4th team finished their campaign on a high by beating already-promoted Dunstable Town 3s by 8 wickets. Harry Robinson bowled a fine spell and Dave Whiteley scored an excellent half-century:
Dunstable Town: 144-9 off 40 overs (Robinson 4-27)
Harpenden: 145-2 off 33 overs (Whiteley 79, Voight 34 not out)

The 5th team also finished their season in style with a 92-run defeat of Old Haberdashers 2s. The club’s young policy was in full effect: Henry Pollard-Beeton scored his maiden century and young Toby Bell took a hat-trick:
Harpenden 217-3 of 40 overs (Pollard-Beeton 109 not out)
Old Haberdashers: 125 all out off 29 overs (Toby Bell 4-14)

The 6th team couldn’t quite deliver a clean sweep, going down to St Albans 5s by 55 runs. Arjan Saini performed well with both bat and ball, and Tom Buckley’s fielding and catching were outstanding:
St Albans: 225-6 off 40 overs (Saini 1-28)
Harpenden: 170-9 off 40 overs (Dunham 45, Saini 35 not out)

The Wizards did not have a game at the weekend, and both Women’s matches were called off.

To conclude a tremendously successful season for the club’s Senior teams, expect a pithy wrap-up of the campaign very soon.
