Come and learn how to score a game on the Play Cricket scorer smartphone app

Digital Scoring with the Play Cricket App

Scoring is a key component of every cricket match, it is an incredibly rewarding endeavour and a valued skill – without it, there would be no game.
Our club depends on volunteer mums, dads, grandparents and guardians to score matches. If you're new to scoring or haven't done it in a while, it can be daunting.

The ECB has set goals for clubs to transition from traditional book scoring to the Play Cricket digital scoring app, with the ultimate aim of eliminating book scoring entirely which gives managers, players, parents and county boards the ability to track player performance at the click of a button.

In line with this initiative, Hertfordshire Cricket has mandated that all players U13 and above must have a Play Cricket account to be eligible to play, starting this year.

In short, Your club needs YOUR help!!

We are looking to build a veritable army of volunteer scorers who can help on match days to ensure we have the resources available to hit and maintain these ECB targets going forward.

To support this change and prepare volunteers for the upcoming season, we will be hosting a "Digital Scoring" workshop at the club. The workshop will focus on Scoring on the Play Cricket Scorer app. We'll guide you through setting up your app for the season, adjusting preferences, and scoring a “demo” game to make you as comfortable as possible with the technology.

We encourage all parents, guardians, and grandparents who plan on attending their juniors' matches and would like to help with scoring to attend this workshop.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd from 7-8pm at the clubhouse.
The bar will be open, so just bring yourselves and your device and grab a drink.

If you would like to attend, please let me know by messaging Nick or Richard

We look forward to seeing you there!
